이 의원은 “국민의힘 윤리강령 제4조 2를 보면 저 사람(윤 대통령)은 즉시 제명 대상”이라며 “저 사람의 전횡을 막아 세우는 걸 ‘내부 총질’로 규정하고 윤리위까지 열어서 사람 쳐내던 당이 진짜 쿠데타 시도 앞에서는 태평하다. 한통속이 아니라면 즉각 오전 중에 윤리위 소집해서 제명하라”고 강조했다.

국민의힘 윤리강령에 따르면 제4조 2항(품위 유지)에는 당원은 폭력을 행사하거나 고성방가 등 기초질서를 어지럽히는 언행을 하지 아니한다고 돼 있다.
